Hair restoration with Alma TED offers an exciting new way to help patients restore hair growth without the use of surgical intervention. Hair is a significant part of many people’s appearance and identity, and often plays a large part in self-expression. Hair loss can be distressing, with the most common form of hair loss being androgenetic alopecia. Also known as male or female pattern baldness, this condition can impact approximately 50% of both males and females. Preparation
To prepare for hair restoration, patients should avoid using certain styling products on their hair ahead of time. This includes hair products such as oils, dry shampoos, gels, and more. It is also important that patients stay hydrated leading up to their treatment. Either the evening or morning before the appointment, patients should wash their hair and scalp to ensure it is clean and free from any hair product residue or oils. More detailed instructions will be provided by the specialist during each consultation.
Procedure
The Alma TED handpiece is passed over the scalp multiple times to ensure even and uniform distribution. The device first uses ultrasonic sound waves to create microchannels in the skin barrier. The frequency of the sound wave determines the depth of penetration, with lower frequencies being able to penetrate deeper tissues. (2) After microchannels have been created, the device utilizes air pressure technology to push the serum deep within the scalp, all without needles or incisions.
This formula is rich in growth factors, peptides, essential nutrients, vitamins, and other ingredients that support optimal hair and scalp health.
The duration of each patient’s procedure can vary depending on the size of the treatment area, but each typically lasts between 20 and 30 minutes.
Recovery
There is no downtime associated with Alma TED, allowing each patient to return to their normal routine after their appointment. Patient can engage in physical activities, return to their jobs, and wash their hair all in the same day. The scalp may feel warm and tender, but these effects are temporary and typically subside within hours. Unlike other procedures, Alma TED does not cause redness, peeling, or initial shedding. To support scalp health after their treatment, patients are encouraged to wear loose hairstyles and use gentle hair products.
Results
The results of each patient’s Alma TED treatment will gradually become more apparent. Most patients notice a reduction in hair shedding within the first several weeks, followed by improvements in hair thickness and density after two to three months. In one study, 96% of subjects reported noticeable growth, and 98% of subjects reported reduced shedding. (3) The new hair growth is long-lasting, and each patient is welcome to style, cut, and wear their hair as they please.
While patients can benefit from one session, we recommend undergoing a series of treatments for optimal results. The recommended timeline is typically 1 treatment per month for 3 months.
