About BodyTite

BodyTite is an innovative treatment technology that simultaneously removes unwanted fat and tightens the skin. (1) BodyTite delivers radiofrequency energy to the skin, which helps to heat and emulsify fat cells, making removal easier. This temperature increase causes the skin to contract and also stimulates collagen and elastin production, which tightens the skin over time. (1)

At this appointment, we will discuss your goals, explore your medical history, and examine your skin laxity and fat distribution in the areas of concern. After collecting the necessary information, we will form a personalized treatment plan, and we may recommend additional procedures that could enhance your results.

How to Prepare

We will provide specific instructions to help you prepare for your treatment. Closely following all instructions you receive will ensure a smooth procedure and optimal results. Patients are advised to avoid any blood-thinning medications or supplements, as well as alcohol and nicotine, before their procedure and throughout the recovery period. Although BodyTite does not require general anesthesia, we still recommend arranging transportation home and possibly assistance during the initial recovery, depending on the scale of the procedure. We also advise that you take time away from work or other obligations to recover without any burdens.

You may receive additional instructions that are specific to your medical history and treatment plan, so please read through any information you receive and contact our office if you have any questions.

Treatment Process

At the start of your BodyTite procedure, we will cleanse the treatment area(s) and administer a local anesthetic. Once the area is numb, we will make a small incision in the targeted skin, then inject a tumescent fluid. This fluid is a mixture of saline, epinephrine, and an anesthetic (typically lidocaine), and it helps to swell fat cells, constrict blood vessels, and enhance comfort, all of which make the fat removal process easier and more effective.

We will then insert the BodyTite wand through the incision. We will carefully maneuver it to remove fat and sculpt your desired appearance. As we maneuver the BodyTite wand, it will emit radiofrequency energy, assisting in fat removal and causing the skin to tighten. (3)

After achieving the desired results, we will close your incisions, monitor you briefly, and then dismiss you to begin your recovery.

After Your Treatment

BodyTite is a minimally invasive treatment that requires minimal downtime. However, some bruising, swelling, and soreness are still common. (2) These typically dissipate quickly and can be managed with rest, cold compresses, and light walks. Patients can usually begin resuming their normal routines within a week, but more intense activities and exercise should be postponed for another two to three weeks.

The full results of a BodyTite treatment can take 6-12 months to fully appear; however, once your swelling begins to reduce after a week or two, you will notice reduced fat and tighter skin. (2) Because BodyTite also stimulates collagen and elastin production in the treated areas, your results will continue to improve over time. (3)

Which areas can I address with BodyTite?

BodyTite can address several different areas of your body, including the arms, thighs, calves, abdomen, back, buttocks, and more! If you are not sure if the area you have in mind can be addressed with BodyTite, we encourage you to come into our office for a consultation.

How long do the results of BodyTite last?

BodyTite results are long-lasting if you maintain a stable weight by eating healthy meals and exercising regularly. Fat removed during this procedure cannot regenerate, but the surrounding cells can swell over time with weight gain.

Can BodyTite address cellulite?

Although BodyTite can address mild skin laxity by tightening the skin, it is not referred to as a cellulite treatment.

Will I have noticeable scars after BodyTite?

We take care to make small incisions in inconspicuous locations to keep scars hidden. Scars also fade significantly as you continue to heal.

How many BodyTite treatments will I need?

Most patients achieve their desired goals with only one BodyTite treatment, but they are welcome to return to address other concerns or tighten their skin with other treatments.

What is the difference between BodyTite and liposuction?

Although they are similar, there are some differences between BodyTite and traditional liposuction. BodyTite incorporates radiofrequency energy in its treatment, which helps to melt fat and tighten the skin by stimulating collagen production. This leads to faster healing times and reduced damage to surrounding tissues. Liposuction is solely focused on fat removal, and standard liposuction does not augment this process with RF energy.
